During the 2013-2014 academic year, SPS at NMSU received the Marsh W. White Award from SPS National. With this award, SPS created a cloud chamber and produced posters that now hang in Gardiner Hall.
Above is a bubble cloud chamber used to detect cosmic rays. Muons create ionization trails when they pass through a cloud of isopropyl alcohol.
